When Ken Ghosh decided to make a small budget film like Ishq-Vishq little did he expect the film to do so well. Besides Ken, the one to make news was its lead actor Shahid Kapur. Shahid was touted to be the next Shahrukh Khan on the block. And yes he has lived up to the expectations generated by the promos of the film. Shahid Kapur… son actors Neelima Aseem and Pankaj Kapur, always wanted to get into the acting profession. Shahid says that the reason why he would be with his parents most of the time was because he wanted to know more and more about the art of acting. Shahid claims to be pretty close to his parents. “I enjoy their company.But I’m close to my mother. I can discuss anything with her under the sun. With my father I’m a bit restrained,” he says.Having taken a professional training in acting, Shahid was all set to make his presence felt on the big screen. Ken Ghosh offered him Ishq-Vishq. The film revolved round teenagers. The story sounded appealing and Shahid agreed. Two relatively new actresses were duly roped in—amrita rao and Shenaz Tresurywala. Ishq Vishq when released turned out to be the darling of the masses. It took the audience back to those days when one use to bunk classes, ogle at ‘item’ numbers in college, played pranks, confessed about your first crushand dreamt of dating the gal you loved. Shahid, Amrita and Shenaz played their role with utmost perfection.“I never expected the film to do so well,” admitted Shahid. “It was a wonderful experience. I really had a good time shooting for the film,”Shahid said. How was it shooting with Amrita Rao and Shenaz Tresurywala. “We all were new to the field. Except for Amrita who had a release to her credit. Shenaz and I were working in the film for the first time. For that matter even Shenaz was well versed with the camera because she use to veejay for a popular channel. I was raw.” For the first timer Shahid Kapur did a pretty good job as an actor.
