Biography

Ajay
Jha, born into a family of traditional North Indian Classical
musicians, has studied and trained under his father Shri Devendra
Jha and his brother Shri Rana Jha, both highly respected musicians
in Bihar and Delhi, India. Ajay and his brother Shri Rana Jha
are representatives of the Panch Gachhiya Gharanaof Bihar.
Ajay
has a Sangeet Visharad (Bachelor) degree in both Vocal and Tabla
as well as a Sangeet Praveen (Master) degree in vocal from Prayag
Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. He is a B-High grade artist on All
India Radio, Delhi and has performed at numerous concerts and
television programs in India and USA. His reperetoire includes
Classical and light which encompasses Thumri, Ghazal, Bhajan and
Movie songs. These days he is very famous in New York for Jagran
and Mata-ki-Chauki.
Ajay
currently resides in New York and devotes himself solely to teaching
music "in the time honored traditional method" in an
effort to preserve and perpetuate the richness and beauty of this
vast musical heritage.
